Update and thank you for our recent special offering

On Sunday 11th October City Hope took up a special offering of which 20% of the funds raised were to be given away outside of the church. It has taken a little while for all the IOUs from the day to come in but we are very grateful to announce that we raised a total of just over £25,000 which is fantastic.

This means we have given £5000 to the following causes:

- £400 to a church in Lesotho through the charity 'Friends of Hope for Africa Missions'. Edward and Mpho who lead the church spoke at our prayer meeting and on a Sunday back in October.

- £2300 to the Newfrontiers church in Conakry, Guinea. Led by Nicholas and Elaine this is a church that David and Lesley Nunn have visited and supported a few times already. The church is doing an amazing work for God, reaching out to people, running a school, helping the community recover from the Ebola outbreak and supporting a church plant amongst other things. It is great we are able to bless them with this gift.

- £1150 was given to Tearfund's 'No Child Taken' campaign. An important work we have given to in the past.

- Another £1150 was given to Tearfund's refugee crisis appeal along with £11.60 raised by City Kids!

Thank you to everyone who has given so generously to our offering. The money will make a wonderful difference in many people's lives across the globe; what a privilege for us to be a part of that.

The rest of the offering will be used for the ongoing work of the church as we 'build for God's glory' here in London. You can listen to Vic Wilson's sermon given on the day of the special offering here. It outlines the faith we need, financially speaking, if we are to move forward as a church and concludes with a giving challenge over the next 6 months.
